What is the total process of one year course at subbody school?

Now I can tell you that it is the total process of one year course at subbody school to transform from selfish ego or egoistic self to resonant self, and finally transparent resonant life. Mind this point from the beginning to the end.
Until this year I could not tell it crearly. The contents of subbody method has so diverse variations and each content is deep and thick, then many students have cofused on the way of process. Then I felt that an orientation for the whole process at the beginning is necessary for students.

There are four kind of processes in the subbody method.

1. Conditioning
This is the method to shift from daily body mode to subbody-cobody mode.
We need to learn to stop daily mind and language thinking, and we can listen in the subtle qualia in the darkness of body. This is the main thing of subbody method.
There are twelve kinds of conditioning. You will learn one by one gradually. When you leran one of them. Practice by your self immidiately at every morning and get it so that you are able to guide the conditioning for others. In a year, gradually the method of conditioning will be deepen to the deeper integrated level.

2. Researching
After conditioning, you wil llearn various ways of practice to research your darkness of body. You will learn so many diverse methods to travell your whole self world. According the daily method, you will reseach by your self or by your group for a while in each day.
When you catch a subtle signal of the body, you follow it, amplify it by your whole body. It becomes your subbody and cobody movement of the day.

3. Creating
Through self reseach or group reseach, you create your own movement of each day. Sometimes you create a subbody (=solo) movement, sometimes cobody (=group) movement, and we share it everyday.
At the weekend, you integrate all movements which you met in a week, and create a short peice of subbody or cobody. We share it together in different resonance ways.

4 Resonating
These whole process is a group process by all students. it is not only individual creation but cobody creation. Through the whole process we can resonate each other freely. Invent novel ways of resonance in each moment. The possibility of way of resonance is infinite.
Through these total process, you will transform a resonance body and mind. To be transparent resonance body is the final purpose of the first stage of one year. The second year will be the deeper course for becoming the midwife of subbody and cobody. After graduating the process, you will start the real resonance way of life with the world in your own way at different place on the planet. The school time is the preparation for that.

I hope you can understand that the each part of the whole process is resonating together. Each part is not separated from the whole process to transform transparent resonance body. Through the process you will meet so many edges which you must feel bad, but all experiences of edges are important absolutely for the whole process.

We are moving to Dailymotion Video

A video of Sara /Death Ash was deleted from YouTube video.
It was the most viewed video of us. Over ten thousand people enjoyed it for two years.
But, it seems that all naked videos are not allowed on the YouTube site.
Then we decide to give up to use on YouTube, and move to Dailymotion video.
Before, the google video accepted naked videos, but now they stop to accept new upload.

Though a family filter is added, but they accept naked videos on the Art categoryy of Dailymotion.
Slowly we will move all videos to the Dailymotion video.

Letter from Cambodia 3--Young dancers in Phnom Penh

I gave two days workshop for young dancers in Phnom Penh.
They are normaly laerning or teaching Traditional Cambodian dance;the role of Hiro, Hiroin,
Hanuman(Monkey god's dance in Hindhism) and so on.
As it was only two days, I focused on only three points.

1. Butoh is to transform dead body which mediates between living world and dead world.
2. Stop daily mind and listen in subtle body feeling in the darkness of body.
3. Find each own bottom and search numinous body feeling which you have never felt.

Searching the bottom and numinousum

1 and 2 is normal process of subbody method, and 3 the bottom was a special experiment
at Cambodia.
Bottom is a unique body posture for each subbody which is warped or shrunken into the limit. At the bottom we can meet novel, numinous qualia easily compairing the daily postures.
It is not only physical shurinken shape, but a shape or movement in which the qualia
become thickest.
As it is so difficult to explain by word, I showed some samples of bottom of Hijikata and me, and let them to search their own bottom which have never done, and never seen, through warping, twisting, shrinking, stretching each part of body untill the limit.
If one meets numinous feeling in it, follow it, and create your own dance from there.
I also used the cracked face, decayed body, warped roots in Angkor which is familiar for them.

Their self reseach was so sincere and full of challenging spirit. Almost of them were from
poor families and they couldn't speak English. But through the bodily communication, they
got essential points perfectly like as blotting paper.

The last dances which they found moved me deeply.

My conviction that the bottom has an unknown possibility for necessary creation was confirmed.
The bottom is not only shrinked posture, any posture can be the bottom which one can
meet one's own necessary movement.
The reason why one feels deep strange connection with the bottom posture is not
understood by oneself. It is numinous, but there must be hidden the deepest secret for
one's life in it. The movement which comes out from the bottom spontaneously has a thick possibility to be a necessary dance for each.
For example the transformation from the shape of a girl to animal was the key of flower, secret and mystery for Hijikata.
Research the bottom posture and numinos movement. It is the tresure house of essential creation.

The bottom, numinousum, and edge are connected deeply. This year we will investigate in these qualia deeper.

Subbody Butoh Workshop

8 weeks Subbody Butoh Workshop starting April 8^th, 2010

Subbody Butoh Method was developed by Rhizome Lee, a Japanese Butoh practitioner.  ‘Subbody’ means subconscious body.   In the subconscious realm, away from the boundary of ego and daily consciousness, our mind and body melt into oneness and create world that is completely different from daily world.  Though various conditioning techniques, a Subbody Butoh practitioner creates movements through exploring the subconscious realm.  For more information about Subbody Butoh Method, please go to:www.subbody.net

This workshop will focus on the essential aspects of Subbody Butoh:

• Quiet down the daily consciousness and listen to the subtle body signals.
• Go beyond our physical, psychological and social bounds in order to create movements that are novel and unique to the individual body.
• Develop Subbody movements through opening eight channels (body feeling, movement, visual, audio, emotion, relationship, world-self image and thinking).
• Find resonance between ourselves and the environment.
• Through the resonance with other Subbodies, become Co-body.

This workshop requires no dance experience.  Anyone who would like to explore his or her hidden creative potentials is welcome!

Subbody Butoh 2 Day Intensive Workshop

This workshop is focused on discovering new movement potential in our body through exploring “non-human” movements.  By taking off the cultural, social, gender boundaries out of our body, we are free to explore movements as animal, plants, machine and any other creatures real or imaginary.  Through Subbody Butoh techniques we access to the deeper body consciousness and create movements that are both novel and strange. 

Previous Subbody Butoh experience is recommended but not necessary.  This workshop requires no dance experience.  Anyone who would like to explore his or her hidden creative potentials is welcome!
