Clear water in the fire

In this week, each subbody became so deep and rich in the parctice. Richness of subbody means to increase the numbers of dimension which subbody resonates. They became so diversitive. And we tried the stray nomad theater this week, too. I expected how diverstive theater will happen. But strong conscious edges came out and guard them as a safety resonance pattern, such as cobody becomes a back line dancers. It disturbed most of subbodies to come out, they have lost way maybe in the too much complexity of nomad=rhizome theater. Over half of them could not come out. The balance of subbody and cobody is so delicate, if cobody becomes 51%, subbody could not come out, the contrary is also often happened.
Through this experiment, we met a novel themes as the following;
These themes will be called "Clear water in the fire".
1. To find a new conditioning way for the transparent body, at the moment before the theater starts when audience are gathering and the tension of dancers is raising up. We need to be a transparent life like as clear quiet water in the fire.
2. To find a novel way of practice to get the transparent riken eyes in the chaos of nomad=rhizome condition which the relationship between cobody and subbody is changing and streaming at each moment.
3. To be aware of the subtle life resonance among the audience in the constant changing relationship.

For meeting these novel themes, we needed the experiment of stray nomad theater.
Originally, our life and subbodies are straying in the universe without any fixed way to choose. We are the existense which have to open the momentary resonance at every timing.
The monsoon will be start with full-scale. We need to wait the next chance to deepen nomad theater untill September.
We will start to crystalize the choreography of subody and cobody with their own best timing and balance in this week.

Stray nomad theater

It was my long-cherished hope to realize the stray nomad theater. I tried many times in these fifteen years but I could not realize until yesterday. But finally we did it. Without any plans and arrangements the theater developed from beginning to the end by the resonance among seven dancers. We didn't know where is next place of theater, we followed the group with dancers and audience. This is the very place where we can investigate in the mystery of what is life, and what is the relationship between subbody and cobody.

Transparent resonance theater

I have dreamt it for long long years. A theater which is unfolded only by the resonance among dancers without any choreographer, or director.
In the nature, there are no director, no choreographer, but it is going well by only resonance among all lives. Why only human's world is not able to do as the same as nature.
After twelve years in Himalaya, slowly the secret is going to be solved. The secret key was consciousness, it made everything opaque. If we can stop consciousness, it becomes transparent that the subtle resonance is happening among dancer's lives. But how is it possible?
In this year, we continued to become cobody and practice for free resonance everyday. Through these practice, gradually the resonance became able to see transparently.
Today, we did it in front of audience. What happened?
Yes, many things happend,sometimes transparent, sometimies sometimes translucent, sometimes opaque. We can learn from them a lot. Everything is experiment to realize the transparent resonance.
If we could do it, it would connect to the possibility which we can do it in the society without any leaders, any politicians.

It's a fantastic dream, isn't it?
Politics can die. The nation-state can pass away,too.
Butoh dancers can feel the most ideal future, and we are able to experiment it.
It is the most wonderfull way of life in the world, though nobody knows.

Fllower, secret and mystery

There are three elements to support an excelent butoh. They are flower, mystery, and secret.
I wrote them about Hijikata's butoh at "The Butoh 8 and 9" (Crick here).
They are streaming with involving each other. If one of them is lacked, the taste becomes shallow.
Without flower, we cannot endure to see, but without mystery btuoh cannot exist. Without secret, we cannot feel the necessity of dance.
The flowers are crystallized from the mystery. The depth of mystery support the beauty of flowers. Flowers without mystery are just imitation flowers.
Butoh dancer knows how flowers come out from the mystry with which timing, or what I could danced and what I cannot danced yet. They are the secret which only butoh creator keeps in one's darkness of body. We cannot tell it others by words and no need to do so. Butoh creator becomes a secret itself in the dancing.
After three months sinking in the darkness of body, slowly students are able to feel the importance of these three elements. Now they are ready to learn the hidden creation method of Ka-Hi-Mei (Flower-Secret-Mystery).
The chaos will crystalize into only one necessary form during the later half of the year.

Toward the <Numinous> realm

The are three stage in the self research for subbody-cobody in the darkness of body. They are the <Novel>, <Numinous> and <Necessary> stages.

Students are going to enter the <Numinous> stage, now.
At the first stage when we meet novel qualia in the darkness of body, we just follow them. It was the <Novel>stage.
Now sometimes we meet unknown qualia which seems that it may connect to the depth of darkness of body, though we cannot understand why.
"Though we cannot understand why" is the point. Then we are involving into unknown realm. If we dance only what we understand clearly, it is not intersting at all.
After that stage we can meet the <Necessary> qualia which we need to dance it for living.
Hijikata and Ohno danced only their necessary butoh, then their butoh meved our life. We take for one year to find the <Necessary> butoh for each student. It takes at least one year exactly.
