| Xavi from Catalonia tried to connect almost all subbodies which he found in
these four months. He started from a beggar body, and transformed stone, pappet,
old man, soil, fish, saramander, monkey, shadow, cobody and so on. He composed
after the second part asthe beggar's dream. He tried to explore his whole self
through the fliquant transfromation. This is the ten bodies methods to integrate
whole self. It takes time. I planned that it will take for one years reseach to find their own ten bodies. But Xavi tried to create almost of them in half year. It must be prety hard. I was suprized that he could find al most of them in such a short period. Off cource still some of them are not compreted right now, he need to deepen and polish them during second term. He is from contemporary theater, he has faced the biggest edge as the concept of human. He tried to expand it from the human world to life world. It is just beginning. The next stage will be to sink into non-dual realm. If he experienced it, the transition from one body to another body must be changed by unknown logic which he has never meet. Xavi, continue your travell, You will experience an unknown realm which all concept and thinking disappear, in the realm you mustfind the neccesary butoh for your life. |
A Political Act. The Nobodies or a
Beggarfs dream This
world as the majority of itfs history has always been condemned in relations
between oppressors and oppressed. Somebody (this the History) and nobodies,
knowers and un-knowers, first world and third world, beggars and citizens,
poverty and richness. Classifications of beauty, classifications of good and
bad, of what is illumination and what is spirituality. At the end it becomes
something like what we keep attention to and what we donft keep attention to.
What we put into light and what we donft put into light. Who we give the voice
and listen to and who we donft. What we see and what we donft see. In this
personal dualism thinking world classification, my solidarism and my resonance
tries to go to one of this parts, to one of this sides. Without compassion.
Because itfs the most creative part, the one which has more mystery, more
spontaneous which come directly from the guts, the non-mediate way. Ifm talking
about a plastic bag in the middle of the dirty road, a broken clock, the magic
simply life of a worker in a city, a family in the middle of a war. The life of
a mammal, just eating, just fucking, sleeping and dying. When I realize walk
forward, whatfs behind me? Whatfs outside there when Ifm inside here? What
becomes the darkness when we put light? A dream of deep beauty appear from the
garbage. About a hidden point in the middle of the jungle where no road, where
no way. Strange relations in a simply being creatures. Subtle differences in an
eternal and boring repetition. The Nothingness. Please try to not understand but
to intuit me. This things are absent from illuminations, from truths about the
truth. The things that we donft see when normally we donft see, that we donft
keep attention. The opposite of what we normally give values and
senses. Fascinated about these insignificant things and contradictions, I
try to resonate with them. Because they are also in life and they must be
included in the question of what is life. Butoh, as a dance, gives the freedom to resonate with these hidden
worlds. Hijikatafs dance was not just a human dance when the concept of human
condition was stolen by a few someones as same as the concept of dance. A human
body not always has two legs and two arms, not always walks in freedom (look at
the walk of a prisoner in a jail), is not always a human body as we understand
what is a human body. Is not always pretty or gcompleteh. These conceptions are also very hidden inside us and thatfs why I
hope to change these worlds in myself and share it with others. Always becoming
new worlds, always twisting the new worlds to other new worlds. This capacity is
what give us freedom and contradiction. Other worlds are possible for our future
generations and they will change it in other worlds infinites times. We can
choose everything everywhere, we give the essence and spirituality to what we
want, but always in a jail of freedom, in a jail of existence. Agree with
Sartre: the existence precedes the essence. To not loose the freedom of forever
twisting, this is my point and my creativity. A Process When more we demand ourselves or more demands us the tasks of the
moment, more necessary is for us to have the energetic source of the meditation,
with the conciliation between soul and spirit. When more intensively is
demanding us something that we have to do, more tired and oppressed becomes for
us. Then, we forgot the magic and the essence of this thing that we have to do.
As same as when we are in a deeply intellectual job and we forgot our body and
his attentions. This is what happened to me so many times. Then, meditation
becomes necessary. We just realize about this when we lost the direction, when we feel
lost, when we think that we donft have more creativity and freshness, when the
passion for our dance is lost, when nothing give us sense. Big doubts
coming. In general, I thing itfs possible to feel lost even with some that
we really like or we really want to do or we donft have any doubt at the
beginning. In the school itfs possible to feel tired, to feel boring, to get
worked up, to piss off, to commit big mistakes. To crash against the rules and
the methods of the teaching, of the teacher. But it exists always the same
possibility of react by oneself, of finding oneself again, of having new fresh
creativity, of see the things in another way. Of twist the situations and
feelings, of reborning again and again. Like this we overcome the
crisis. When I mean to throw out ourselves in dance or theater, itfs like
an exercise, a sport of imagination forces, in which oneself represents his gmeh
in situations and places very differently from daily life. At this point, we
forget this daily body and life while this exercise is going on and we enter in
other dimensions, in other creatures, in other feelings and beings which are
oneself. In other words, we give up, surrender by something. We let
ourselves go. Reincarnation. If the actual existence can be the continuation of
other existences in the past, of others in other bodies in other times and
situations, then we can become our past and forget our
present. Even if we donft believe in reincarnation, we can believe in the
truth of being water, spirit or mountain in ourselves. Imagination. Can be to the service of a desire to become what we want. The first creative impulse. It can be more powerful than ourselves, it can transform realities as science has done. |
